Exciting News!

I’m so excited to announce my NEW website! This is something I have been working towards for the past year.  With the help of my dear friend, Cyndee Jenkins, it is now a reality.  Everything looks the same and is in the same places except now it’s a website. The first page you will see is my blog Create with Ella and to the far right is a tab titled “Store”.  The Store is empty now but in the near future will have kits for sale.

I hope you will continue to follow me on this journey in papercrafting, mixed media and so much more as I continue to expand my horizons.  This is an exciting time for me and you as well.  Thank you for your support and encouragement; it means a lot to me!

Don’t forget that I now stream at 7:00 Eastern time at Create with Ella with a live chat where you can ask me questions and chat with other crafters from all over the world.  Hope to see you there!

Are your Christmas cards finished?

Do you enjoy making pretty Christmas cards as much as I do? Do you make them with special people in mind? If so, then today’s post is for you!

Several years ago I discovered a tutorial named “One Sheet Wonder” by Kathy Roney and immediately fell in love with how easy it was to make a lot of cards in a short period of time!  The tutorial I used was for an 8×8 sheet of designer paper that makes 9 cards – that’s right 9 cards.  There are other One sheet Wonder tutorials for 6×6, 8.5 x 11, and 12×12 paper.

Shown below is a picture of the cards we made on my Ustream Show Create with Ella on Thursday, December 10th.

One Sheet Wonder

A Victorian Christmas

These beautiful Christmas cards were made using “A Victorian Christmas” collection by Prima Marketing. The cardstock, ribbon, gems and pine branch were made from items in my personal stash.  Several of them are already designated to homes of love.

If you would like to see more Christmas projects please join me every Monday on Create with Ella at 11am Pacific/2pm Eastern and  Thursdays at 9am Pacific/12Noon Eastern. The broadcast is live with a live chat. We share lots of laughter and always have a good time!

I hope you’ve been inspired to make your Christmas cards this year.  Receiving a card that was made especially for you from a special friend/family is a true gift!

2 for 1 Seasonal tri-fold album

Last week on my Ustream show we completed our ‘2 for 1 Seasonal tri-fold album‘.  Here’s some pictures of both sides including close-ups.

I chose to use my seasonal tri-fold album as a decorative piece for my mantle with no photos.  However, you can select to add three 4×6 photos and/or various other sizes on yours.  One of my viewers, June-Marie suggested making one of these for the seasons of the year and displaying them throughout the year.  Thanks June-Marie, I think that’s an awesome idea! This project makes a nice gift for that special someone as it is easy to display and store.

For the Fall/Autumn side I used Bo Bunny “Enchanted Harvest” and for the Christmas side we used Prima “A Victorian Christmas“.  On the Fall/Autumn for the leaves under the pumpkin I used the Sizzix Thinlits Fall Foliage dies by Tim Holtz.  I also used items from personal stash on both sides for some of the embellishments.  Both of the collections and the dies can be purchased at Scrapadabadoo.

You can view the recorded shows to see how they were put together on my Ustream Channel Create with Ella or my YouTube Channel Create with Ella.  I broadcast on Ustream every Monday at 11am Pacific/2pm Eastern AND every Thursday at 9am Pacific/12 Noon Eastern. The shows are LIVE with a live audience and we’d love to have you join us in the chat!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have been inspired to be creative!

‘My Life Isn’t Interesting Enough…”

It’s November 1st and before you know it  will be December 1st and eeek! you’re thinking what happened to all those Christmas projects I was going to make? I know, we haven’t celebrated Thanksgiving yet and I’m already talking about Christmas, right? Well don’t worry I have Thanksgiving projects lined up for the 2nd week in November, plus we’ve already started on a project that can be used for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

But today I want to talk our current project using Simple Stories Claus & Co. Album which can be used as a December Daily or a Christmas album.  In my previous post I gave all the details and supply list needed for this project. Today I want to give you another ‘tool‘ to help make this project easier.

You may be thinking your life isn’t exciting enough or interesting enough to make a December Daily.  Well, that’s what I thought too last year when I was approached to make one.  So I decided that I was going to make mine a combination of December Daily/Christmas Album.  I found this article “But my Life is interesting enough for December Daily” online that gave a list of prompts and fun things to do.  After reading it I thought well I can do this easily.  And it was fun!  I included things like decorating the house, buying the tree, parties, sending Christmas cards, seeing the Christmas lights, movies we watched and more. Looking back I’m glad I made my album and am looking forward to making one this year. You can print out the article and start gathering your thoughts for your album.

Tomorrow on my Ustream Channel Create with Ella at 11:00 Pacific time/2:00 Eastern, we will continue working on our Claus & Co December album by Simple Stories. The show is LIVE with a live chat and we have lots of laughter and good times.  It is also recorded and uploaded to my Ustream and YouTube channels.

Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Let’s talk about current projects!

Hi everyone! It’s a beautiful day here in southern California meaning it’s not too hot or humid, lol.   So let’s talk about our current projects on my Ustream show Create with Ella.

Our first project is the ‘2 for 1’ Seasonal Tri-fold Mini Album which we have already begun and expect to finish on Thursday November 5th .  This project showcases the Fall/Autumn season on one side and the Christmas season on the other.  It is perfect to display in your home and/or to give as a gift.  On each side you can display 3 – 4×6 photos and various other sizes as well. The paper collections used are Bo Bunny ‘Enchanted Harvest’ and Prima ‘A Victorian Christmas’. We will work on this project on Thursday’s at 9:00 am Pacific Time. You can find the tutorial here.

The project can be used as a Christmas album or a December Daily.  (I will show you how I plan on using mine as a Christmas album.) We will work on this project on Monday’s only and it will take us approximately 4 to 5 weeks.   The three paper collections can be purchased at  Please note I will also be using products from my personal stash as well in both projects .

I hope you will join us on Monday and Thursday where we have lots of laughs and good times.  The show is live which means there’s a live chat everyone can participate in.  The shows are also recorded/stored on my Ustream channel and uploaded to my YouTube channel for future viewing.

WRMK Envelope Generator App

I love the  WRMK Envelope Board and WRMK 1-2-3 Punch Board! As you know they are lots of various sizes of envelopes you can make with these boards but sometimes you might need a size that isn’t listed. Well put the calculators and math away, lol.  WRMK now has an App for Apple and Android devices!!! That’s right; no more math, lol.  Here’s a picture of the app.

wrmk env gen

To get the app go to the App store on your device and type in Envelope Generator and viola! It will calculate in inches or centimeters.  You enter the card width and card height, press generate and you will see the paper size and punch guide measurement.  How easy is that! Now you get make just about any size envelope you need.  Go ahead, download the app and start creating some envelopes.

PS Because I have the 1-2-3 Punch Board I no longer need the WRMK Envelope Board so I’m gifting it to a lucky friend 😉

Bo Bunny Enchanted Harvest

I am in love with the NEW Bo Bunny Enchanted Harvest Collection. Since Fall is my absolute favorite time/season of the year the colors are perfect for paper crafting of all types and occasions.  You can see for yourself below!

bo bunny enchanted

On my Ustream show Create with Ella this past Monday we began making a Bendi card with this collection which you can see here.

Bendi cards are very easy to make and make wonderful display pieces also.  The dies I’m using for this card are the Elizabeth Craft Designs All Season Tree and the Echo Park Pumpkin Die Set. I purchased these dies along with the Bo Bunny Enchanted Harvest Paper Collection at Scrapadabadoo.  The tutorial I used to make my card was written by Emma Fewkes  and here’s the link to her blog for the tutuorial Lady ‘n the Stamp.  I made this card with Bella Carta paper from my stash.

These cards are fun to make and even more fun to give to those special people in your life.  Next week on my Ustream Show Create with Ella we will finish our ‘Falling Leaves” Bendi card and make an envelope that the Bendi card will fit into nicely for mailing.  My show is on every Monday at 11:00 am Pacific time/2:00 pm Eastern time.  I look forward to seeing you there!
