My New Adventure!

ae370c46ac52737578cd6a236a57ac81

Because I value our relationship and your support of my Close to My Heart business, I want to tell you about my new and exciting adventure!

I have been selected to be a member of the Scrapadabadoo Design Team.  Many of you know that I purchase some of my crafting supplies from them and have for several years.  When they formed their design team last year I was not able to participate because of my CTMH affiliation.  As a crafter I enjoy creating projects with products from all manufacturer’s and as a CTMH Consultant was not able to promote other manufactures as much as I wanted to.  Therefore, I have made the decision to leave CTMH effective April 1st.

I will still have crops in my home, organize National Scrapbook Day and other special events. Beginning April 1st the crop fee will be $5 for a day crop (11:00 am to 7:00 pm) and $10 for an evening crop (11:00 am to midnite). Beverages and snacks will be provided and lunch/dinner will be on your own. I will no longer be preparing food for the crops.

I am excited about my new adventure and hope you will join me on my paper crafting journey.  Should you decide to join me I promise exciting new projects/products, lots of fun and a journey of a lifetime!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.  I will be making a public announcement at the end of the month to other customers/contacts.

Please note that the My Crush Holidays Happenings workshop is on November 22nd NOT December 22, lol.  I apologize for the confusion. Seems like all my months are running together lately, ha!  Have a great weekend and stop by on Monday for a new holiday project.

What a Hoot!

What a treat! Check out the August Stamp of the Month set “What a Hoot!”  This stamp set is especially fun and versatile because you can build your own little owl owl.  Besides Halloween you can create an owl for birthdays, thinking of you, anniversaries, and much more. What a cute Christmas owl this would make. There are 17 images in this stamp set which mean you can stamp them individually and paper piece them together. Just think of all the possibilities!

Project “I Care”

One of my crafty friends oversees the opening/designing of gift shops in several hospitals in Texas.  Last month he and his team opened a Breast Care Cancer Center Boutique at one of the hospitals.  Jim says, “It’s been such a blessing in my life.  I am so deeply honored to be apart of this amazing project!  In the few days we have been open, we have seen survivors come in who have been so grateful for our shop and friends and family of the amazing people who are going through this horrible disease come in and be so thankful!”Thank you card

No, He is  NOT asking for money!  Please send No money!  LOL!  He is asking this….would you be willing to make a card(s) that the staff and volunteers of the Breast Care Center can send to their patrons THANKING them for coming to the Breast Care Center Boutique and purchasing an item in which the proceeds go directly back to the Breast Care Center? I’ve seen the cards you all make and they are so pretty! What a joy to make a card(s) to THANK someone for supporting the boutique.

Here’s the Details:

This is a GREAT way to use up your STASH! The cards can be as fancy or as simple as you would like AND you can make as many as you would like. The size of cards needed are  A2 (4 1/4″x5 1/2″) sized cards . Please line dark cards with white or cream cardstock; envelopes are appreciated.    The type of card(s) needed are “Thank You” with no sentiment on the inside.

This is an ongoing project. I will be collecting cards at the crops or whenever it’s convenient for you  to drop them off at my house. You may also mail your cards directly to Jim.  His address will be posted on my blog under the tab PROJECT:I CARE. If you have any questions please contact me.  Your contribution is deeply appreciated!

For future reference you can find this information on my blog under the tab Project: I Care.

Craftin’ up a Merry Christmas!

Whew! The elves have been working me a lot these past few days…but I finally was able to sneek away for a little break so I could show you a couple of things I’m working on.  Of course, I can’t show you everything because some of you are receiving them as gifts, ho ho ho!

As you know from my previous posts, I am in love with the CTMH luminary on the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge. Here’s one I made and gave to a friend last week.

Snowman luminary          ????????

The Artiste Cartridge is full of fun designs and I created a “Christmas Cracker” to fill with goodies for some special people on my list! I am very impressed with how easy they were to put together.

Christmas Cracker

The next gift I’ve been working on and is now finished has nothing to do with CTMH but it’s so stinkin’ cute I know you’ll enjoy looking at it. This Bo Bunny Elf Magic mini album was created by Zandra Cudney of Scraps to Beauty.  I had so much fun putting this album together and I know that special person is going to love it!

The elves also had me busy making gifts for our neighbors which I’ll show you later this week…shhh don’t tell them I’m going to sneak away, ho ho ho!   I hope these Christmas gifts have inspired you to be creative and make something for those special people in your life.  Receiving a handmade gift made with lots of love is a treasure!

With all the hustle and bustle of trying to find the perfect gift, cook the perfect meal, decorate the perfect house and life in general lets not forget to take time to remember that on a night years ago when “all was calm” and draw on that calmness instead of getting caught up in all the worldly trappings…instead LOVE Christmas for what it really celebrates ~The Greatest Gift of all.

Luminaries

Luminaries

I love the way this luminary turned out! I gave this one as a hostess gift on Thanksgiving. They are so easy to make and here’s how:

Using the CTMH Artbooking Cartridge on page 50 you will find the overlay design. Cut 4 each of the following sizes: 7″, 7 3/4″ and 6 3/4″. Then cut 4 pcs of 1/4″ coordinating cardstock to connect your panels. I used CTMH Liquid Glass to adhere the panels and all the decorations including the ribbon on the top/bottom.

I’m also going to make some for Christmas decorations on my mantle. Make sure you use Flameless Candles with these, lol. Have fun and enjoy!
